Student Trainee ( Overseas )
The USAID Overseas Internship Program ( June 17, 2024 to September 6, 2024 ) is designed to provide Interns with substantive work assignments, which expose them to the benefits of a Federal career.
NOTE: Successful students hired into USAID’s Overseas Internship Program must meet the following conditions for employment:
- Be a United States Citizenship
- Continue their enrollment in a qualifying academic program for the duration of the internship
- Be suitable for Federal employment, including passing a security/background investigation
- Maintain a Grade Point Average of 2.0 or higher for undergraduates and a 3.0 or higher for graduate students
- Have an account for Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfers
- Be registered with the Selective Service if they are a male born after December 31, 1959.
Interns are assigned to work in missions or in offices and bureaus throughout USAID. Typical assignments for Interns in USAID’s Overseas Internship Program Include a variety of tasks, including:
- Working on research projects and performing analytical work
- Writing program memoranda and communicating on USAID program issues
- Attending program discussions and facilitating meetings or special events
- Performing some assignments that are administrative in nature
