Kitchen Coordinator - Childcare

Responsibilities

Required hours: Monday thru Friday - 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the childcare center at IU Indianapolis

Receives the vendor-prepared food and allocates the appropriate servings for each classroom for lunch, morning, and afternoon snacks and delivers to each classroom according to a fixed schedule. Daily wash dishes using commercial dishwasher for lunch dishes, clean off lunch carts, and clean and sanitize the kitchen area daily. Communicates immediately with teachers, administrative staff, and/or food service vendor to resolve any discrepancies with delivery times or service quality. The pay range is $13 - 18 per hour based on food service experience.

Community Contributor - Working with staff, students of IUI, and our food service vendor to build relationships

Problem Solver - Working directly with staff to ensure service levels for timeliness, quality, and food safety are met

Communicator - Active communication and building relationships between professional staff, children of CYC, and food service vendor

About CYC:

The Center for Young Children (CYC), located on campus in downtown Indianapolis, provides childcare and early childhood education for the University and Indianapolis communities for up to 215 children. We believe children learn through play, hands-on activities, experiences, and interaction with their environment and through the guidance and encouragement of experienced and professional teachers. Serving nutritious meals to our children is an essential part of our daily activities.
