Engineer in Training

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our dynamic team and contribute to various land development projects across the country. As a key member of our engineering department, the successful candidate will work under the guidance of experienced professionals to assist in the planning, design, and execution of land development projects. Responsibilities:

Design and Drafting:

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to develop preliminary and final design plans for grading, drainage, utilities, and other infrastructure components.
  • Utilize Civil3D and other design software to produce detailed engineering drawings.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Work closely with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with zoning, environmental, and other land use regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of permit applications.

Construction Oversight:

  • Participate in site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Collaborate with contractors and construction teams to resolve technical issues and provide technical support during construction.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, landscape architects, and environmental consultants.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

Professional Development:

  • Pursue professional development opportunities, including obtaining Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  2. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or the ability to obtain it within six months.
  3. Familiarity with AutoCAD and other relevant design software.
  4. Strong problem-solving skills.
  5. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Knowledge of land development regulations and permitting processes.
  2. Previous internship or work experience in land development.
  3. Familiarity with stormwater management and environmental regulations.
