Part-time Student Eclipse Communications Media Internship
IU Center for Rural Engagement
The Center for Rural Engagement eclipse communications media intern will use written and visual assets to tell the story of rural Indiana and IU’s collaboration with communities in the pathway of totality during the April 2024 eclipse.
Department Specific Responsibilities
- Creates original written stories and features that capture campus and community initiatives surrounding the April 2024 eclipse.
- Composes written and visual content into web-based story features.
- Conducts background information gathering, photography and videography, and interviews of story subjects, which may involve in-state travel leading up to the April 8 eclipse.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in progress or completed. Knowledge of journalistic and storytelling concepts. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Strong writing and communication skills. Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and digital photography/videography.
Hours
Position schedule is 10-15 hours per week depending on level of work flow.
Compensation
$15/hour
