Community Liaison and Policy Specialist
We are announcing this vacancy in Sacramento and Riverside.
The California Air Resources Board's (CARB) Community Planning Section, part of the Office of Community Air Protection, is seeking a dynamic staff member to join a team working on creative strategies to enhance air quality in California communities. This effort aligns with the Community Air Protection Program, as mandated by Assembly Bill 617 (C. Garcia), with the aim of decreasing pollutants, improving public health, and promoting environmental justice in communities facing disproportionately high air pollution exposure.
As part of this team, you will actively engage with public and private stakeholders on the needs, challenges and strategies to improve air quality in California’s most overburdened communities. You will help develop creative solutions and implement actions to reduce harmful emissions, with a focus on Northern California and Bay Area communities. This may include: analyzing and communicating data related to health, air quality, and the emission of pollutants and preparing and presenting issues and policies to CARB management and stakeholders. You may also be tasked with tracking the development of regulations and other initiatives to reduce emissions, preparing and presenting comprehensive reports, and collaborating with other CARB divisions, local air districts, community members, environmental groups, and sector experts to evaluate technical and policy proposals, and representing CARB in public forums.
Applying electronically via CalCareers is highly recommended. If submitting a hardcopy application (mail/drop-off), please send an email to Essam.Gad@arb.ca.gov to confirm submission.
You will find additional information about the job in the Duty Statement.
