This position is for 12 months and may be extended up to 24 months or may become permanent.
The Drayage Implementation Section within CARB's Transportation and Toxics Division is recruiting for three (3) Staff Services Analysts (SSA) to implement efforts for various freight regulations, including the Advanced Clean Fleets (ACF) Regulation Drayage Truck requirements. The Section is focused on implementing regulations to accelerate the use of zero-emission technologies at the State’s seaports, railyards, and other freight facilities. The Section is also responsible for supporting phone hotline, outreach, and other compliance assistance activities.
We are looking for friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working in a team environment. Members of this team will help with the registration and reporting requirements of ACF. The team is primarily responsible for the implementation of ACF, which involves a variety of challenging tasks, including assisting stakeholders in navigating complex emissions reduction requirements. Successful candidates will be highly motivated and self-starting. The position requires frequent communication with stakeholders via phone and email. The team also provides customer service and technical support commensurate with SSA capabilities for other programs that reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, nitrogen oxides, diesel particulate matter, and other air toxics.

Working Conditions
The positions at the CARB may be eligible for telework with in-person attendance based on the operational needs of the position under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program need. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of hybrid telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the position’s designated headquarters location at their own expense, as indicated on their duty statement.
