Therapist III - Board Certified Music Therapist

Summary Statement

The incumbent in this position will be responsible for providing creative arts therapy services to patients in an inpatient psychiatric hospital. The primary job responsibilities will be to identify clients who will benefit from creative arts therapy and engage those clients in both individual and group creative arts therapy.  Work includes documenting progress notes and recovery plans.

Essential Functions

THERAPIST

• Administers treatment, applying knowledge of applicable therapy discipline. 
• Plans and prepares written treatment plans based on evaluation of individual's data.
• Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatment to achieve maximum benefit.
• Instructs, motivates and assists individuals in performance of various activities and use of support devices.
• Instructs individuals, their families and other treatment staff in treatment procedures.
• Prepares records and reports on individual's progress.

Job Requirements

• Possession of a Bachelors degree or higher.
• At least two years' experience providing professional therapy services.
• Certified Music Therapist by the Certified Board for Music Therapists or eligible for certification.
