Government /Public Affairs Intern
Teneo is seeking a paid intern for its Washington, DC office for the winter semester. The intern will work closely with Teneo’s head of US government and public affairs and the DC-based members of Teneo’s Strategy division to support the creation and execution of GA/PA approaches to achieve clients’ strategic goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Track and analyze political and policy developments and potential impacts on clients
- Study various policy areas to assist in the development of advocacy positions
- Assess Fortune 500 clients’ and prospects’ GA/PA activities and structures
- Draft client-ready memos, research papers, fact sheets, and other documents as needed
- Support long-term internal projects, such as maintaining a database of political organizations, government officials, speaking events, think tanks, and other information
- Attend relevant government and think tank events across Washington
- General administrative support
Required Skills:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree with relevant course work in politics, economics, international affairs, regional studies, communications, history, or other areas
- Demonstrated understanding of the U.S. political system
- Experience with open source research
- Strong analytical skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Superior writing skills
- Team-oriented and enthusiastic
