Description of Work Unit:
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Colorado State University was established in 2006 and is a membership- based program of the Office of Engagement and Extension committed to fostering lifelong learning and enriching lives for those 50 and better. Our 900+ annual members are people from all professions and educational backgrounds who share a desire to learn, engage, and actively discover more about the world. Each semester we offer 80+ in-person and online courses in the fields of Arts & Design; Cultural, Domestic, & Global Affairs; Science, Nature, & Technology; History, Psychology, & Philosophy; Literature & Communications; Music, Theater, & Film; and Health & Wellness.
Job Description:
This position will assist the OLLI program in the areas of customer service and general office support.
Key duties include:
- Providing excellent customer service as a first-line respondent to phone, email, and face-to-face inquiries.
- Setting up classroom technologies and classroom configurations for lectures and presentations and supporting instructors on use of classroom audio-visual equipment
- Supporting instruction through copies and material distribution, attendance, and communication.
- Facilitating and hosting OLLI online Zoom courses with professionalism and supportive problem-solving skills.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Use technology to communicate with members via email and phone. Problem-solve classroom technologies to support instructor needs with PowerPoint, projectors, microphones, etc. Register members for courses and problem-solve issues with registration in OLLI online database system.
- Respond to needs of members through written and oral expression. Answer phone calls and support member recruitment, retention, and growth with excellent customer service. Communicate class changes to members via email and phone calls.
- Professionally represent OLLI at open house receptions, in online and in-person courses, through social media, and within the CSU academic, and Fort Collins retirement, and business communities as needed.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and Excel. (DP)
- Strong written communication skills, especially via email. (V/WC)
- Self-starter with excellent organizational and priority-setting skills. (SR, CT/PS)
- Ability to maintain professionalism when workflow demands are high. (PA)
- Demonstrate integrity, honesty, dependability, and responsibility. (PA)

- Must be able to work at least ten hours/week, but scheduled work hours are flexible and can accommodate class or work schedule. (PA)
Hourly Pay Rate: $13.65 per hour
