Social Media & Content Creation Spring Internship (Virtual, unpaid)
Spring 2024
Location: Virtual
Start Date: Between January 9 and 23 (your choice)
End Date: April 26
Hours: 8-10 hours per week. Must be available on Fridays for weekly team meetings.
Candidates must be eligible to participate via their school’s internship program or requirements for interning or fulfilling a field placement. We will work with your school/advisor on achieving desired learning outcomes and completing all necessary paperwork.

About Executive Insider and Founders:
Executive Insider is a trailblazing 501(c)(3) nonprofit that aims to create a transformative impact on the professional landscape, making it more inclusive and accessible for individuals from all backgrounds. We aspire to address the unmet needs of minority, rural, low-income, educationally deprived and disadvantaged, and other underrepresented and underserved women in particular.
Our with a mission to guide and empower first and second generation female professionals at the onset of their careers by providing them with critical resources for success, long-term mentoring, supportive peer communities, and robust professional networks.
We are dedicated to helping these trailblazing women navigate the unique challenges they face, equipping them with skills for career advancement, and fostering a balance between their professional and personal lives.
Our founders, one of whom graduated from Harvard University and the other from Columbia University, are both first generation female college professionals. They identified a gap in the market for helping first-gen college graduates transition to and thrive in the workplace. They envision a future where every first and second generation female professional is empowered with the support and opportunities they need to excel in their chosen career paths.
About the Internship Program:
Executive Insider (EI) is looking for undergrad and grad students who are interested in a women-driven, social impact internship. You’ll work directly with the two Founders to deliver on timely objectives.
We are looking for creative, organized, and ambitious social-media savvy individuals to help create content around our first- and second-generation female professionals (FGPs) brand, mission, and services.
You are:
- Proficient in at least one of these platforms: Instagram, TikTok, and/or YouTube
- Confident in your communication and love creating various types of content for social media across channels like TikTok, Instagram (Reels + Feed + engaging Stories), and/or YouTube and you aren’t shy of being in front of the camera
- Experienced in managing, scheduling and creating various types of content for social media across channels like TikTok, Instagram, and/or YouTube and you aren’t shy of being in front of the camera if needed (focus on visually communicating who we are, how to become involved in our membership services, and help customers/clients imagine life with a community of women who support each other in their careers )
- A self-starter; you identify gaps/opportunities and come to the table with ideas and solutions
- An awesome team player, communicate clearly and proactively, and complete your assignments on time
- Someone who has a strong work ethic and commitment to the position
- Must be able to make these 8-10 weekly hours a priority
Responsibilities:
- Create graphics in Canva
- Schedule posts across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn
- Help crafting messaging
- Record/edit socials
- Leverage the capabilities of artificial intelligence (AI) to ensure that the content you create aligns with our organization's brand, voice, and values
- Become familiar with Facebook and Google ads
- Build relationships with on-campus first- and second-generation students, clubs, groups, etc.
- Conduct research that speaks to our target market
- Assist with longer-term strategic projects
