Child Development Intern Assistant

Render's Hope Dayschool is seeking a passionate and diligent Child Development Intern Assistant to join our team. This role is pivotal in providing high-quality care and learning experiences for children under our supervision. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about working with children and committed to creating a safe, engaging, and enriching environment. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of children, both indoors and outdoors.

 

  • Assist in the planning and execution of age-appropriate activities, including games, arts and crafts, educational programs, and playtime, to promote children’s development.

 

  • Support teachers with classroom organization, setup, and management, contributing to a clean and organized learning environment.

 

  • Uphold the highest hygiene and safety standards, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including childproofing, and maintaining the cleanliness of the facility.

 

  • Ensure the child development facility is clean and safe and complies with health and safety regulations. Childproofing and maintaining cleanliness may be required.

 

  • Engage in ongoing professional development and training related to child development and early childhood education.

 

Candidate requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 years with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English.
  • Undergo a health examination and a tuberculosis (TB) test to ensure good health and safety for the children.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills.
  • Completed credits in early childhood development, behavior management, or child safety protocols.
  • Provision of references that attest to the candidate’s character, reliability, and suitability for working with children.

 

Preferred Qualities:

  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Keen interest in child development and early education
