Media Services Specialist

Under general supervision, oversees media content of instructional media library services and manages access rights to the media among internal and external clients.

The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following

Required Education and Experience

Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by 12 semester units or 18 quarter units of college level coursework in library media science, library media systems and management, media production, business, or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

Experience: Two years of technical experience in media library or online media management including the use of video-editing applications (e.g. Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro).

Equivalency Provision: A bachelor's degree in library media science, library media systems and management, media production, business, or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation may substitute for one year of the required experience. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

Additional Requirements: A valid California driver's license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to obtain transportation between job sites may be required. Incumbents in this classification may be required to lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
