The State Water Resources Control Board has an opening for an Environmental Scientist position in the Bay-Delta and Special Projects Unit of the Bay-Delta and Hearings Branch. The position is located at 1001 I Street, 14th floor, Sacramento, right in the heart of downtown with easy access to light rail and other forms of public transportation.
Duties: This position offers a unique and challenging opportunity to function at the interface of environmental policy, science, and regulation through participation on multidisciplinary teams of State Water Board staff responsible for development and implementation of the Water Quality Control Plan for the San Francisco Bay/Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Estuary (Bay-Delta Plan). The focus of this position will be implementation of the Bay Delta Plan through administration of the State Water Board’s water right permitting and petition programs for major water diversion and use projects in the Bay-Delta watershed, including the State Water Project and Central Valley Water Project.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
