Talent & Culture Manager (HR Manager)
Overview: The Talent & Culture Manager will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the hotel and restaurants recruitment process, performance management objectives, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, RW Impacts projects (people & planet) and aspects of Rosewood training. This position reports to the Director of Talent & Culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with Director of Talent & Culture to identify staffing and hiring needs, performance assessments, DEI, RW Impacts and training needs
- Responsible for fostering and building relationships with DOES, local hiring organizations, colleges, educational institutions and veterans organizations
- Attend careers fairs and host career fairs for the hotel and restaurant
- Screen and interview candidates for all positions in the hotel and restaurant
- Work with Managers on assessing their staffing needs and coordinating interviews for them to meet with potential candidates
- Assist with task force request or opening hotel's request for staff assistance
- Assist Director of T&C with VISA and Immigration applications
- Work with Immigration lawyers on VISA applications
- Work with International internship organizations
- Proactively develop and implement alternative staffing sources
- Responsible for the overall recruitment function of the hotel
- Support the T&C Coordinator in the onboarding process and updating new hire records
- Facilitate RW onboarding training
- Work with Managers on training plans and Rosewood assigned e-learning
- Review 90 day introductory performance reviews with Managers and ensure performance conversations regularly being conducted
- Ensure associates are being developed and utilized to their maximum potential by monitoring training programs
- Lead efforts around associate engagement and on site associate events
- Assist with associate exit interviews and retention strategies
- Develop and facilitate talent development materials and Rosewood initiatives
- Work with Director of T&C on identifying and supporting Rosewood Academy enrollees and their progression
- Assist Director of T&C with all of Rosewood Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives, projects and assigned training
- Connect with local DEI organizations and community leaders to foster a DEI network
- Assist Managers with identifying areas in which their teams want to explore DEI initiatives
- Support Employee Resource Groups (ERG) within the hotel by hosting and sourcing events that align with the groups needs and objectives
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in Human Resources to proactively address recruitment challenges and identify training opportunities for improvement
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Talent & Culture

Qualifications:
Minimum of two to three years of HR management experience required
Recruiting, interviewing and hiring experience required
Minimum of two years of training experience in hospitality required
A thorough knowledge of DC employment law and regulations is required
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
Previous experience demonstrating the ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
Previous experience handling employee relations issues and coaching associates
Education:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Hospitality, or related field required.
PHR, SPHR or SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP certification is preferred
Language:
Required to speak, read, and write English.
Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Ability to provide legible communication and directions; ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; ability to prioritize, organize and follow up; able to follow directions thoroughly; ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite as well as with HRIS and talent management systems; ADP workforce now experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, lift up to 35 pounds, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.
Schedule:
Able to work AM- morning and PM- evening shifts
Able to work weekends as required for training and support of social events
