Accountant Trainee
Job Description and Duties
The Accountant Trainee position is located within the Accounts Receivable (AR) Unit. Under the close supervision of the Senior Accounting Officer (Supervisor), the Accountant Trainee performs professional accounting duties within the AR Unit. This includes but not limited to: billings, filing of liens, preparing past due collection letters, learn to set up account receivables in the Financial Information System of California (FI$Cal) and within the Department's Business Information System (BIS)

Working Conditions
Ability to use a computer keyboard several hours a day. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods. Attend meetings and hearings; work with staff statewide to complete work assignments.
Position is located in a high-rise building. Requires being in a stationary position, consistent with office work, for extended periods. Daily use of a personal computer, office equipment, and/or telephone. Standard office environment.
Time off may not be granted during the year-end Financial Statement and Federal grants closing periods.
Hybrid telework option.
This position qualifies for Public Service Loan Forgiveness Accrual Credit.
