Student Marketing Assistant
This position supports the marketing efforts throughout the campus on behalf of DCP. The environment can be fast-paced and involves individuals who have a strong work ethic and function well in both individual and team projects. Weekly hours range from 10 – 20 hours during the academic year.
DCP is seeking a talented Student Marketing Assistant who is eager to gain experience and work in a fast-paced environment while focusing on developing DCP’s brand. This position will strengthen the following Career Readiness competencies: problem solving, professionalism, communication, teamwork, technology, and career management.
Candidates will be asked to share their portfolio or samples of work, showing graphic design talent and experience. (Required). THIS IS A WORK-STUDY ONLY POSITION.
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- Graphically design and support the production of various DCP marketing materials (ex. digital graphics, brochures, flyers, infographics, HTML emails, social media graphics, posters.)
- Create, edit, and resize digital graphics for social, web, and print sizes while adhering to strict brand guidelines.
- Draft and schedule targeted email campaigns on different platforms to increase awareness and usage of services (ex. Handshake).
- Pitch, brainstorm, create, shoot, and edit content (photography and/or video) for multiple social media channels including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, and the DCP archive.
- Partake in, capture, interview individuals, and create real-time video/ photo content during DCP events and services for marketing and social media use.
- Organize, upload, distribute and maintain content.
- Administrative or special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficient in design software such as Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) required (PC-based).
- Strong fundamental knowledge in typography, layout, color web and graphic design principles.
- Working knowledge of social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn.
- Proficient knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work on numerous projects simultaneously and work independently toward completion of tasks.
- Portfolio of work demonstrating relevant graphic design skills. (link required)
Desired Qualifications:
- Photo editing and retouching, illustration, motion graphics, videography, video editing a plus.
- Ability to confidently interview individuals on camera a plus.
- Basic knowledge of WordPress and website maintenance a plus.
