Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (USDB) invites you to consider an enjoyable and gratifying employment opportunity with our school. We are seeking a visionary and dynamic educator to join their Speech-Language Pathology team for the current 23-24 school year. This position is located in Salt Lake City, UT.
As a Speech-Language Pathologist at USDB, you will have the opportunity to:
- Evaluate students for potential services & make recommendations to the IEP team for the service delivery model based on informal and formal assessment measures.
- Develop and implement therapy and treatment plans including observation, direct service, and consultation with other service providers.
- Provide regular feedback regarding student progress based on consistent data collection and ongoing informal assessment.
- Perform follow-up/training of staff as appropriate.
- Participate as appropriate on Individual Education Plan (IEP) and other teams.
- Participate in professional development in a variety of specialty areas.
- Collaborate regularly with the SLP team, educators & other professionals.
- Serve students from ages 3-21 with a variety of communication needs & modalities including spoken language, ASL, and AAC based on the individual caseload.
- Provide guidance and assistance in coordinating appropriate speech and language intervention for students with sensory impairments who may have additional disabilities affecting communication.
- May require travel to other USDB campuses as needed.
The Ideal Candidate will possess or be eligible for:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Willing to accommodate Clinical Fellowship Year applicants.
- State of Utah Teaching License in Speech-Language Pathology.
- American Sign Language skills preferred.
- Successful completion of a background check is required for this position.
