Apply today and join our team. The State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Drinking Water, Data Management Unit has two openings for a Research Data Specialist III. The position is available Statewide and telework options are available. Division of Drinking Water may require in-person reporting as needed. Options for in-person reporting include the following Division of Drinking Water field offices: Redding, Sacramento, Santa Rosa, Richmond, Lodi, Monterey, Fresno, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara, Bakersfield, Glendale, Santa Ana, and San Diego.

Support the Data Management Unit through data collection and tracking, data quality review, and data analysis related to Public Water System (PWS) compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act. Develop, implement, and update scripts to conduct state-wide analyses of drinking water quality data, monitoring and reporting tracking, violation and enforcement action tracking, and others. Review PWS inventory, monitoring schedules, and water quality data to ensure data is accurately entered and maintained in the Safe Drinking Water Information System (SDWIS), Water Quality Inquiry database, and other data systems. Assist with development, implementation, maintenance, and data migration of applications that interface or extract information from SDWIS.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.

Salary: $7,315.00 - $9,155.00 per month
