The Enforcement Division’s Diesel Programs Enforcement Branch (DPEB) is seeking an Air Resources Technician II to assist with the implementation and enforcement of the 2022 TRU amendments as well as assisting with the streamlined enforcement process for CARB’s mobile source regulations. The DPEB team is responsible for enforcement of California’s on and off-road diesel regulations and programs. Examples include the Statewide Truck and Bus, Off-Road Equipment, and Transport Refrigeration Unit Regulations, and the Periodic Smoke Inspection, Verified Diesel Emissions Control Strategies (VDECS), and Heavy-Duty Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Programs. The successful candidate will assist the DPEB team in the implementation and enforcement of CARB mobile source regulations and provide general support on technical and compliance issues associated with transport refrigeration Unit (TRU) 2022 amended regulation.

Working Conditions
This position may be eligible for hybrid in-office work and in-state telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the agency and is based on the California Air resource Boards' (CARB) current telework policy. While the CARB may support telework, some in-person attendance is also required.
The positions at CARB that may be eligible for telework with in-person attendance based on the operational needs of the position under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program need. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of hybrid telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the position’s designated headquarters location at their own expense, as indicated on their duty statement.

- Daily use of a personal computer, office equipment, and/or telephone.
- Up to 40%, overnight, statewide travel will be required.
