US Navy Nuclear Surface Warfare Officer

Visualize yourself in charge of a billion dollar technically advanced ship. As a Nuclear Surface Warfare Officer, you are a professional leader with technical, scientific, and managerial expertise. You will gain both valuable real-world leadership experience and highly-sought after technical training.

Nuclear Surface Warfare Officers assume responsibility for powering a 97,000 ton Nimitz or Ford-class nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. Your mission: travel the world while in support of US interests and commitments. You will manage a virtual city at sea as you oversee the operation and maintenance of highly sophisticated nuclear propulsion plants.

Launch your career as a Nuclear Surface Warfare Officer before you finish college! Apply to the Nuclear Propulsion Officer Candidate (NUPOC) Program. As a Future Nuclear Officer in the NUPOC program you may earn up to $273,000 for up to 42 months all while in school!

Program selection includes:

-Regular monthly income up to $6,500 for up to 42 months prior to graduation

-Housing Allowance based on the location of your school

-Food allowance

-Medical health care benefits

-Selection bonus of $30,000

Use this money for tuition, books, or anything else you need. Have the financial freedom to accomplish your collegiate goals. No uniform or drills, just school full-time, and the chance to graduate debt free.

Post-Graduates: May also apply for this program. Must have completed a bachelor's degree and are presently enrolled in a master's degree program at a regionally accredited college or university in the United States or its territories, and are within 1 academic year of attaining master's degree.

Requirements:

-Age: At least 19 and no more than 29 years of age at commissioning. Waivers, position specific, up to 35.

-Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required.

-Education: Minimum of 1 year each of Calculus-based physics and mathematics through differential and integral calculus. "C" or better in these courses.

-GPA: 3.0 and greater
