Internship Program Overview:

Finance Intern, Internal Audit Intern Description:
Support the Lamb Weston Finance Team with several projects related to the Finance function. Learn how to work as part of the Finance team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company or clients. Skilled mentors within the team will be assigned for the duration of the program.
Work experience will be built around projects and duties may include but are not limited to:
- Assist with financial analysis and modeling for various requests (product development, customer analysis, competitive analysis, pricing, etc.)
- Plan and perform internal audit projects
- Leverage data analytics to perform projects
- Review process and controls, make recommendations for improvements and support implementation
- Gather and assess the appropriateness of management corrective actions
- Assist with research, filing, data entry, and recording/maintaining accurate and complete financial records
- Prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, invoices, and other documents
- Work with bookkeeping software and handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity
- Support Plant Leadership team with financial analysis in costs, capital projects, continuous improvements and other financial drivers
- Assist with month-end close process and journal entries
- Monitor and track key financial operational benchmarks
Basic and Preferred Qualifications:
- Must be a current Junior, Senior, or Master’s student enrolled in Finance, Accounting, Audit, Economics, MIS, Business, or related field
- A basic understanding of science (biology, chemistry, or food technology/engineering) to apply skills to support bench top/lab testing under supervision of a professional
- Ability to problem solve with limited guidance
- Continuous improvement mindset and methodology
- Excellent verbal and oral communication skills
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills
- Ability and willingness to work independently
- Strong analytical skills
- Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience
- A self-motivated individual that is able to multi-task and lead others
