Employees must reside at a location that allows for reasonable response time to workplace reporting requirements.  Daytime travel within Ohio may be required.

 

 

Who We Are:

Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) is the state agency that empowers Ohioans with disabilities through employment, disability determinations, and independence. It is accomplished through its Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation (BVR), Bureau of Services for the Visually Impaired (BSVI) and Division of Disability Determination (DDD). A fourth area is the Division of Employer and Innovation Services (EIS), which is responsible for establishing and maintaining partnerships with employers.

What is a Business Enterprise Operator Training Program Administrator and what do they do?

We are hiring for Business Enterprise Operator Training Program Administrator who will manage the training program charged with licensing blind and visually impaired persons who would like to run their own vending/food service business.  The duties include recruitment of qualified individuals, hands-on training, identifying, and assessing training needs, creating on going educational opportunities and implementing various training delivery systems.   This role will monitor effectiveness and will work with stakeholders to determine future needs.   We are looking for someone that will work well with a variety of people, which include Business Enterprise Operators, Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors, and our great team of business consultants and management to train and onboard new licensed operators.   This person will also work with the Business Enterprise Operator leadership in planning an annual statewide conference and ongoing trainings for promotional opportunities.  We are looking for someone who has a high desire to collaborate, comes to the table with fresh ideas while also being open to listen to others’ ideas.   To succeed in the role, the selected candidate must be highly organized, conduct instructor-led training activities, collaborate with teams, and set up and monitor coaching and mentoring systems.   This person will be traveling throughout the state on a regular basis, with very little overnight travel. The successful candidate must enjoy working with people and being part of a team.

Qualifications

 

4 years' training or 4 years' experience in business administration, management science, or public administration.

OR, Completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management science, or public administration; AND 2 years' training or 2 years' experience in supervisory, administrative, &/or managerial position.

OR, Completion of undergraduate core program in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved position description on file; AND 2 years' training or 2 years' experience in supervisory, administrative, &/or managerial position.

OR, 1 year of experience as Program Administrator 1 (63122).

OR, Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.


Job Skills: Program Management

 

Knowledge of supervisory principles/techniques; business administration, management science or public administration; public relations; employee training & development; interviewing; public accounting. Ability to gather, collate & classify information about data, people or things; define problems, collect data, establish facts & draw valid conclusions; deliver speeches before government officials & general public; write, letters, papers & reports; handle sensitive telephone & face-to-face inquiries & contacts with general public; interview job applicants to determine work best suited to them.
