ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES TECHNICIAN - FULL TIME AND PART TIME

What would a typical day on the job be like? What work would I do? Are you looking for an opportunity to serve your local community? Do you enjoy seeing your hard work shine and make a difference? The Environmental Services Technician in the General Services department is responsible for performing custodial and manual work in the care and cleaning of City facilities. Day to day, you would be performing a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure City facilities are maintained and kept tidy. This will include dusting or polishing chairs, desks, tables, shelves and other furniture. You could also be vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, waxing or buffering floors. Our Environmental Services team is responsible for collecting and disposing of trash daily, and tidying furniture as needed. 

 

Time management and the ability to develop relationships will be great skills to have in this position, as you will encounter other employees and need to manage your time while cleaning throughout the City buildings.

 

Safety is our top priority for all employees, so you will need to have a basic knowledge of cleaning methods associated with hazardous chemicals and common cleaning equipment. 

 

How much money can I make? The estimated hiring range for the Environmental Services Technician position is $32K - $53K annually; salary is based on experience. 

 

What are the qualifications for this position? This position requires one year of related custodial experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

This position will also require satisfactory results from local and state criminal background check and pre-employment medical screening. This position is considered Essential Personnel, so you will need to report to work during and following natural disasters and emergencies. The City requires employees in this position to successfully complete the required National Incident Management System (NIMS) Incident Command System Certifications within one year of employment
