IT Data Warehouse Intern /CoOp
The Data Warehouse and Reporting Developer’s primary role is to develop, test and implement database programs, reports and cubes as assigned by the Data Architect/Manager. Proven communication skills and problem-solving skills are critical to successful performance.
Responsibilities
- Identify Data system requirements in collaboration with the data architecture manager, architects, analysts, application developers, project managers and system owners.
· Develop, test, implement and maintain Data Warehouse/BI components including but not limited to:
Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) Packages
Views, Stored Procedures, Functions
Report and Cube Development/Maintenance
- Assist in the planning and testing of database refreshes and upgrades with the DBA.
- Create test processes in order to identify and remedy potential problem areas.
- Liaise with source system teams and end users to address data related issues.
Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification
- Junior or Senior pursuing a four-year college diploma or university degree in computer science or computer engineering.
Desirable
- Knowledge of concepts around project requirements analysis, technical requirements, business process mapping and data source to target mapping in a data warehouse environment.
- Conceptual Knowledge of Data Warehousing techniques and best practices.
- Knowledge of SQL (Specifically MS SQL Server) to design, develop and deploy schema changes, reports, queries, stored procedures and functions
- Concept Knowledge of ETL package development and maintenance in a data warehouse/reporting environment.
- Knowledge of process of developing end user reports and data quality reports/audits.
- Understand SQL Server security principles as they apply to database objects, reports and cubes.
- Experience with Excel Pivot tables
Desirable but not Required
- Visual Studio (Business Intelligence/Database) and TFS experience including deployment methods and package versioning.
- Experience with SSAS cube development
