Graduate Engineer
JOB SUMMARY:
An entry-level engineering position responsible for providing technical support, including drafting and design, in the basic development/design of building structures with primary construction materials including concrete, steel, masonry, wood, and aluminum. Perform assignments designed to develop professional knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. A basic understanding of engineering statics, construction material properties, CAD/BIM production, construction plans, and relevant design codes is desired.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for preparing reports, specifications, plans, and construction documents for projects as requested across the LOB
• Perform assigned engineering tasks with supervision, including conducting hand calculations and utilizing design programs
• Perform BIM modelling on assigned projects
• Utilizes Dunaway standards, SOPs and training materials to align work product with stated resourcces
• Completes design calculations and verify conformance with applicable codes and project scope with oversight
• Assists with construction administration including reviewing shop drawings/submittals for compliance with structural documents, responding to contractor RFIs, and performing site observations.
• Assist the project team in the development and design of buiding structures with construction materials including concrete, steel, masonry, wood and aluminum
• Assist the Discipline Lead with resource planning and forecasting
• Responsible for initiating the QA/QC process for projects
JOB DUTIES:
- Perform assigned engineering tasks with supervision
- Assist the project team in the development and design of basic paving, drainage, grading, water, and sanitary sewer infrastructure, which consists of plans, specifications, and cost opinions
- Ensures conformity with the project scope and applicable design standards
- Interpret rough sketches and plan redlines to create and edit plans/drawings
- Prepare quantity takeoffs and assists with cost opinions of design elements
- May prepare project-related technical reports
- Conduct property and existing utility research as needed
- May interact with staff representatives of jurisdictional agencies to obtain approvals of drawings and specifications for permitting and construction phases of the project
QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE:
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Microstation software or applicable design software related to the specific area of focus
- Proficient in MS Office and Bluebeam
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or structural Engineering or equivalent degree
SKILLS:
- A basic understanding of engineering statics, construction material properties, CAD/BIM production, construction plans, and relevant design codes is desired.

EXPERIENCE:
0-2 years of civil engineering / design experience
Technical Excellence:
- Basic knowledge of Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Bentley products
- Proficient in MS Office and Bluebeam
Certificate/Liscenses:
• EIT certification preferred
