Entrepreneurial Consultant Intern

The Launch HOPE Foundation transforms lives through the power of Entrepreneurship. Our Launch HOPE members are those in the Indianapolis community that potentially have had challenging backgrounds such as incarceration, poverty, addictions, immigrants, sex trafficked, etc, and need an opportunity.... That's where our interns come in!!

This intern will work directly with 2-3 members of our business accelerator as they move their businesses into the marketplace or as they continue to grow and scale their businesses. These interns engage in all areas of business planning, operations and growth through creation and implementation of a business model canvas. This intern will serve as a team lead for strategy planning and goal setting for all other positions working with entrepreneurs. Must be eligible for internship credit and meet all university internship requirements (EX: LSB 401/402 interns need to complete 20 hours/week).

  • Can communicate effectively with various groups of people
  • Soft skills: active listening, problem solving, flexibility, patience, time management

At Launch HOPE we have four interrelated areas; Educate, Employ, Execute and Empower.

Educate: We teach the fundamentals of Entrepreneurship from Ideation to building a complete business model.

Execute: Those members that are ready to move their business models into the market join our Business Accelerator Program at one of five levels. Here entrepreneurs receive 5 years of support from interns, business mentors and other Launch HOPE resources. Some members with established companies may join directly into the business accelerator

Employ: We employ members at our Industrial Center which also acts as an experiential business learning environment. Additionally, the Industrial Center provides manufacturing services for Business Accelerator member companies as well as takes on private and government contracts.

Empower: We work with different community partners to facilitate removing obstacles from our members' lives. Members are able to take part in a barrier removal program to make accessing entrepreneurship easier.

Location and Times: Launch HOPE interns meet in DH 131 (strategy room/garage) at Butler University. We have set meeting times once per week and then you will also be required to work with your teams or entrepreneurs outside of the group meeting times. Half of the required hours must be completed in the Dugan Hall garage. For students located at other Universities we have remote opportunities.

Supervisor: Prof. Kristi Mitchell is the overall intern supervisor with support and leadership also provided by Launch HOPE Managing Interns.

Compensation: This position will be compensated on a stipend basis.
