The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) is seeking ambitious and driven individuals to join us as Business Taxes Representatives (BTR). The BTR position is an entry level professional position with career advancement opportunities and potential for personal development. As a Business Taxes Representative, you will use your analytical skills to determine how best to resolve delinquent sales and use tax accounts effectively and efficiently. Your skills will be strengthened as you communicate regularly with the public, analyze accounts and financial records, negotiate payment arrangements, and interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, and policies to ensure compliance from taxpayers. You will have the support of your supervisor, on the job trainers and team members and will learn all facets of the position, including skip tracing, asset reviews and other advanced collection actions, including field visits to businesses. This position is production oriented and you will immediately recognize the results of your hard work. The position will challenge your organizational, communication, and customer service skills. HIRING PROCESS: After the Final Filing Date, applications will be reviewed. The most qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the interview process tentatively scheduled to begin December 12, 2023.
Candidates must complete the required college-level courses by the time of appointment to be considered eligible.
