
Competitive Intelligence Intern (Remote from MD, DC or VA only) Spring Recruitment

CareFirst runs a year-round internship program. The ideal candidate is someone who can work throughout the year up to 15-20 hours in the Fall/Spring AND 40 hours in the Summer.
The intern position resides within the Competitive Intelligence team at CareFirst, which supports all areas of the organization with strategically relevant competitive and market insights collected from a wide variety secondary research from publicly available and internal sources. This is accomplished primarily through three avenues:
Regularly scheduled intelligence deliverables including a weekly Competitive Briefing and monthly Market Trends Spotlight report
Ad hoc research requests
Updating and performing regular maintenance of the CareFirst Intelligence Desk (CID), a website that includes daily market and competitor news, internally and externally produced reports and analyses, and competitor field intelligence.
Responsibilities for this internship are including, but not limited to the following:
Uploading content to the CID daily, which includes reading and summarizing news publications and reports for publication on the site
Assisting with ad hoc research requests including conducting secondary research, summarizing research findings and key insights, and preparing final reports/presentations
Proofreading and editing reports prior to distribution
Qualifications:
Majors/Focus of Study: Business, Marketing, Communications and/or related focus
Must be a student enrolled in an accredited college or university at either the junior or senior level for undergraduate level or graduate level student
G.P.A. 3.25 or above
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
Must be able to work independently to accomplish assigned tasks
Aptitude to synthesize and create a cohesive picture from a wide variety of information types and sources
Strong time management skills and able to work on multiple tasks or projects concurrently
Experience using Microsoft Office products, (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,) and the Internet
Strong research skills - ability to search internet and have a desire/interest in healthcare
