Small Business Administration - Office of Women’s Business Ownership Intern

Office of Women’s Business Ownership (OWBO) – Program Manager - OWBO is seeking an intern to manage event planning including the third White House Women’s Business Summit. This Summit will promote resources to support women small business owners including the Women Business Centers (WBC) network. The WBC network assist women entrepreneurs through training, mentoring, business development, and financing opportunities. They assist our nation’s small businesses as they recover from the economic impact of the pandemic and continue to grow. Women own 12 million businesses in America, employing more than 10 million workers. They continue to trailblaze across industries every day, starting nearly half of all new businesses in the United States in 2021. The summit will highlight the largest network of WBC which are specifically designed to assist women, recognizing that women still face unique obstacles in the business world. The WBC network expands into all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. The intern will also assist in crafting social media communications and content creation.

 

The Office of Women’s Business Ownership’s mission is to enable and empower women entrepreneurs through advocacy, outreach, education and support. Through the management and technical assistance provided by the WBCs, entrepreneurs, especially women who are economically or socially disadvantaged, are offered comprehensive training and counseling on a vast array of topics in many languages to help them start and grow their own businesses.  For additional information - Office of Women's Business Ownership | U.S. Small Business Administration (sba.gov)
