lobbyist internship

Seeking an intern for the 2024 Idaho Legislative Session. This internship will run from the first week of January, January 2, 2023, to the end of the 2024 Legislative Sessions. The typical legislative session ends the last week of March to first week of April. Internship hours would range from 10-20 hours a week, and AFL-CIO will work with student's schedule. Must be able to work in some fashion between hours 7:30 AM -12 PM or 1 PM - 5 PM. Must wear business professional in the Idaho State Capitol. 

Duties would include: 

• Note taking and reporting on legislation and rules related to unions, electrical code, and more. 
• Listening to House and Senate floor sessions, committee hearings, and more. 
• Learn legislative process from start to finish
• Assisting with reporting, meetings, and other tasks to report to members. 
• Read pieces of legislation and rulemakings with assistance of members. 
• Assist with Member Day on the Hill set up.

Skills must include: 

• Efficient writing / typing 
• Professionalism around state Legislators and others in the state capitol
• Effective listening skills. 
• Hard working and willingness to learn about issues and process.
