
Screws Manufacturing Engineering Technician I (Second Shift)
Job Summary:
The Screws Manufacturing Engineering Technician I plays a vital role in supporting the improvement and development of manufacturing processes. This position is responsible for ensuring quality standards, compliant documentation, production capacity, product availability, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in engineering projects, ensuring tasks are completed on time and with high quality.
- Provide daily support and direction to production processes, including heading, turning, milling, drilling, finishing, and packaging.
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing CNC machines and complex systems.
- Execute tasks related to process validation and engineering studies, including Installation Qualification, Operation Qualification, Performance Qualification, Computer Software Validation, and Test Method Validation.
- Contribute to process improvement efforts, applying engineering principles and methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
- Assist in measurement system analysis and gauge implementation, utilizing various measuring instruments.
- Support equipment and material procurement, performing cost-effective vendor and equipment analysis for engineering projects.
- Verify layouts and drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards and specifications.
- Collect and document data for designed experiments and capability studies, maintaining records of process specifications.
- Aid in programming, setup, and equipment debugging.
- Gather and organize process documentation and conduct training on processes, materials, and equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and 5S tasks.
- Participate in investigations and execute tasks to resolve process issues, including Nonconformances (NC), complaint investigations, audit observations, and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Collaborate in cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality Assurance, Finance, and Product Development.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Serve as a model for operators, exemplifying a positive attitude and adherence to processes and safety measures.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Educational Requirements:
- Technical Bachelor's or Associate's degree or equivalent work experience/certifications.
Professional Experience Requirements:
- 0-2 years of experience in manufacturing and/or engineering is required.
- Preferred experience with heading, forming, forging, laser, vision systems, CNC processes/equipment, and related programming software.
- Previous experience in a regulated industry, such as Medical Device, is a plus.
- Lean Sigma experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of machine and electrical safety standards is a plus.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office, CREO, Minitab, and databases.
- Strong organizational skills and results-oriented mindset.
- Positive interpersonal skills and professionalism when interacting with coworkers.
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to support global projects, including occasional travel.
- Availability to support all production shifts.
- Understanding and adherence to compliance-related activities, including the Quality System Regulation (QSR), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and applicable Work Instructions.
