
OTEAM Orientation Coordinator
Orientation Coordinators engage in a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities that support the planning, preparation, and facilitation of new student orientation programs at IUPUI. Orientation Coordinators should expect to work up to 15-20 hours per week during the spring and fall semesters, and up to 40 hours a week during the summer.
Responsibilities:
- Recruit, interview, and advise the section of all Orientation Leaders
- Plan, design, implement, and facilitate Orientation Leader training in May
- Plan and facilitate various aspects of winter/spring and summer orientation programs
- Provide ongoing communication and support for Orientation Leaders leading up to and during orientation programs
- Attend and engage with all Admissions Spring Preview days
- Respond to incoming student inquiries via phone and email
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a current full-time undergraduate student at IUPUI
- Must have worked at least one summer as an orientation leader at IUPUI
- Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and be in good academic standing with IUPUI
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work with diverse groups of people
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Strong work ethic, personal initiative, and follow-through
- Strong organization skills, critical thinking, and problem solving
