Marketing/Communications (Off Campus Work-Study)
Bishop Arts Theatre Center (BATC) is looking to hire a marketing & social media position to work in a fast-paced, forward-thinking, multiracial, multidiscipline, rapidly growing theatre rooted in social justice work. The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge and understanding of digital media platforms and strong critical thinking skills to work alongside seasoned arts administrators. The intern will work closely with the Marketing Coordinator and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of marketing.
Internal Overview: This in-person position is located on the bus line in Oak Cliff. The person who steps into this role will help strengthen BATC’s brand messaging by creating a marketing campaign to improve visibility in the community.
Project Description
The Marketing Intern will gain real-world experience in developing a strategic marketing plan that will increase ticket sales, improve visibility and consistency on all social media platforms, and create a street team that will help disseminate marketing materials in the neighborhood.
Students will learn
How to develop and implement a social media strategy. Discover how to review and measure Google Analytics to help increase digital engagement. How to work towards a common goal as a team as well as develop effective communication skills for interacting with clients and patrons. How to input confidential patron data into Audience View software.
Skills Needed/Desired
Knowledge of Office Suite, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, basic computer skills, familiarity with Word Press or be willing to learn how to update our website, must be self-motivated, possess good communication skills, flexible, knows how to work industrially with a team or as an individual, have great attention to detail and accuracy, and must be able to meet deadlines.
