Your New Role

The Digital Programming Team and the Off-Platform Team each work to surface CNN's deeply reported journalism for massive audiences across multiple mediums. Your Roles Accountabilities

  • The intern will have the opportunity to create and publish content to CNN's flagship social platforms while learning best practices from seasoned professionals -- and sharing what they've learned from their own personal social media habits.
  • They will learn how to create compelling headlines and test them across platforms, to gain a deeper understanding of audiences who use different devices and what draws them in.
  • The intern will get to collaborate on preparation and execution for election season content; some of the most high-profile items that we produce.
  • They will be encouraged to produce a presentation examining CNN's presentation across platforms and comparing/contrasting with competitors', sharing any insights through the eyes of a news consumer.

  • Interest in social media as a medium for news consumption
  • Self-starter attitude and strong communication aptitude.
  • Time management and basic professional office skills.
  • Must be actively enrolled in a U.S. accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
  • Must be a rising Junior, Senior or Graduate Student (18 years or older)
  • Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA)
  • Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States.

Nice to Haves

  • "Nice-to-have" skills include CMS experience; introductory-level photo editing or graphic design interest; and knowledge of basic video-editing techniques.
