Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Intern

Position Overview:

Novelis in Greensboro, GA has an opportunity to participate in our on-site summer 2024 internship. The team is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety intern that can join the team for approximately 12 weeks. The person in this role will have the opportunity to participate in relevant work and gain hands on industry experience. This intern will report to the EHS Leader and will gain experience with OSHA and EPA regulatory compliance, employee involvement programs, incident reporting, investigation, and document control.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with implementation and administration of all matters related to plant EHS and Security processes
  • Responsible for an EHS-related project
  • Assist with Employee engagement activities including Safety Committee and Training
  • Prioritize and maintain EHS related documentation

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in an accredited 4 year University
  • Must be a Junior or Senior
  • Interested in gaining hands-on industry experience prior to graduation
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills which are essential for interacting with all levels of the organization
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer students majoring in Occupational Safety and Health, Safety Management, Environmental Science, or related fields
  • Solid business insight
  • High interest in becoming an engineering leader in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills
  • Grade point average (GPA) of >= 3.0 out of 4.0

Location Profile

Novelis’ Greensboro facility is located in Greensboro Georgia. With 140 employees it is the first stand-alone used beverage can recycling facility in the company now responsible for pioneering a majority of Novelis’ recycling technologies.
