SBP Ambassador - Volunteer Opportunity
SBP Ambassadors are vital in supporting recruitment and awareness efforts to bring in new AmeriCorps members and volunteers. As representatives of SBP and the first point of contact for many with our organization, Ambassadors must be comfortable talking about the state of disaster recovery at our different operating sites, answering questions, and articulating the ongoing need for support.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify tabling opportunities, reach out to professors and community members to request opportunities to present in classrooms and/or at events as applicable
- Accurately document the number of people reached at each event and report to SBP
- Collect contact information for students interested in SBP and share with SBP point of contact
- Maintain an energetic and positive attitude
- Keep a neat and professional appearance
- Attend monthly student ambassador meetings to learn core information and competencies and share best practices
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in MS Office including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Passion for SBP’s work
- Positive attitude/capacity to inspire and motivate others
- Strong organizational skills
- Comfort with public speaking
- Willingness and enthusiasm to receive constructive feedback
- Ability to take initiative and be self-motivated
- Prior experience volunteering with SBP
