Engineer I-Analog Design (Power)

The successful candidate will show a drive to learn and apply analog IC design experience in the development of complex analog and power system modules for a wide range of microcontrollers and across multiple process nodes. Specifically, the candidate will be responsible for the design of power systems. Low power, area sensitive, CMOS design techniques are emphasized.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Essential Functions:

  • Design and develop architecture and circuit blocks for PMUs and other complex, low power, area constrained, analog modules for MCHP microcontrollers within a team environment leveraging the experience and guidance from senior team members.
  • Closely interact with the Architecture division to help with module definition.
  • Interact with Product and Test to address issues found during validation or production.
  • Design and help validate test rings (hands-on in the lab).

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering  with 0-3 years of Analog design experience preferred.
  • Preferred experience, internship or equivalent classroom experience in the definition, design implementation (analog and digital), system integration, and application and design of PMU including switching DC-DC converters and LDOs.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must have a drive to acquire knowledge of low power analog design, and an understanding of how custom analog integrated circuits are used in end-customer applications.
  • Must be capable of working with senior engineers in the team to make trade-offs when evaluating multiple topologies/architectures.
  • Must be able to learn to advise design and layout of complex analog circuitry.
  • Must have ability to demonstrate all aspects of circuit needs in thorough design reviews.
  • Must be able to function in a fast-paced engineering environment that is simultaneously responsible for new analog circuit design and addressing bugs/weaknesses on existing circuits.
  • Course and or experience in design of hardware, software, and/or firmware for microcontroller-based systems is a plus.
  • Must be able to communicate well.
