The Director is responsible for maintaining a fully-licensed child caring institution whose mission is to provide a psychologically and physically safe environment which promotes effective and individualized rehabilitation in order to assist the youth to develop a delinquency-free lifestyle and family reunification. The Director is responsible for the overall administration of a $4 million+ budget and a professional staff of over 40 in a 24-hour/day, three-shift, 365 days per year secure training school serving male and female delinquents. The facility contains a residential treatment center, education and vocational training facility, and contracted support service units. The incumbent must ensure that the treatment of all youth is consistent with a cohesive philosophy guaranteeing dignity and respect regardless of ethnic, religious or cultural background.

Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Experience
Social Services Division Administrator 17
Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Equitable Classification Plan (ECP) Group Three manager.
Preferred: Residential care experience with youth.
Additional Requirements and Information
This position is located at Shawono Center and the selected incumbent will be required to physically report to this office. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.
Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:
- A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
- A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
- Suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.
