Summer Environmental Sciences Intern

The selected intern will study the effects of climate, the environment, and demographics on the infectious fungal disease Valley fever (coccidioidomycosis) The student will explore biological hypothesis on the effects of climate and other environmental factors on Coccidioides/Valley fever using weather and climate data, land use data, and/or genomics data. The student will conduct statistical analysis and work towards writing a scientific paper. The student will gain experience in programming, creating graphics/maps, giving scientific presentations, and scientific writing.
