ROLE SUMMARY
Pfizer Global Medical Epidemiology is looking for a full-time Quantitative Epidemiological Analyst contractor. Leverage Real World Data (RWD) especially the CMS Medicare Medicaid database effectively in support of the drug development lifecycle strategy across the portfolio. This is a 12-month contract with potential to extend. On-site at Pfizer New York Head Quarter, or remote.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Apply epidemiologic and statistical methods to address effectiveness, safety and benefit/risk issues as well as Early Clinical Development needs in large RWD epidemiologic datasets
- Conduct feasibility analysis of large electronic health record/claims databases, especially the CMS Medicare Medicaid database
- Perform analysis of observational data to support products, exploratory analyses, method development, and publication
- Conduct ad hoc quick analytic queries
- Ensure appropriate process and documentation with respect to quality for inspection readiness
- Assess, implement, and test new methods for epidemiological analyses
- Work independently on multiple projects prioritizing according to analytics team and departmental needs ensuring alignment of common goals across the team and maintaining positive interactions in the team environment
QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced degree (Master's) in Epidemiology, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science or related fields with demonstrable extensive technical and hands-on skills on quantitative analyses and computer programming; preferred with at least 3 years with working/research experience in the pharmaceutical or other industry, academia, and/or regulatory agencies
- Experience in establishing and implementing appropriate quality control during analysis
- Expertise in SAS/SQL programming including statistical analysis procedures and expertise in SAS/Base, SAS/Stat, SAS/IML and SAS Macros and strong understanding of SAS/Graph
- Strong general computational skills with experience in several languages, software packages and applications such as R, Tableau, Visual Basic are preferred
- Proficient IHD and/or AETION platform experience is a plus
- Able to perform independent analysis for full studies under the guidance of a quantitative epidemiologist and provide QC support to other analysts
- Extensive experience with multiple sources of claims/electronic health record data and/or public and private epidemiologic resources
- Experience with CMS Medicare Medicaid database strongly preferred
- Significant experience in the application of epidemiologic programming to large observational databases in the studies of disease progression, drug effectiveness and safety
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in relating to colleagues and associates both inside and outside the organization
- Experience with effective independent handling of multiple projects
