Make your mark in public service. As an accredited public health department, we're seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of SUDORS Epidemiologist 1 to join the Epidemiology Division , Drug Surveillance Section in Atlanta, GA.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the SUDORS epidemiologist to identify opioid-involved overdose deaths
  • Contact specific coroner offices and medical examiner offices to request reports
  • Abstract appropriate information from the reports into the SUDORS database
  • Review and edit data based upon CDC and SUDORS staff recommendations
  • Analyze data and create routine reports
  • Conduct data quality checks and data quality improvement projects

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in Public Health or closely related field from an accredited college or university,

OR 
Bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience performing epidemiologic work or work in a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAS experience
  • Attention to detail and data organization ability
  • Experience working with large datasets
  • Experience working with diverse partners on projects
  • Good communication skills
  • Reliable data entry skills
  • Data management ability
