Frontend Software Developer Intern

RNWBL is seeking a highly motivated technologist eager to work at the forefront of renewables, technology and software development, and help lower the cost of energy. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop Javascript/React Native/Ruby on Rails for our commercial software, apps, and client efforts
  • Support existing software with maintenance, updates, key features
  • Support developing intuitive UX and sustainable software
  • Take ownership and make an impact developing apps with a focus on performance, reliability, and capabilities
  • Assist the technology team, CTO, and senior management in identifying impactful opportunities to build, leverage, and grow our technology offerings
  • Support field, engineering, and back office personnel in productivity improving initiatives to implement, maintain, and custom develop software
  • Leverage internal logging and analytics to define, refine, and drive high level and actionable KPIs
  • Collaborate across company and clients to constantly improve efficiency and processes
  • Work alongside technology team to prepare investor, internal, and board materials highlighting success, opportunities, areas for improvement, and triage priorities by compliance, rate of return, and potential to delight

Competencies

  • Strong understanding of front end development, software best practices, reusable code
  • Knowledge of software design practices
  • Javascript, React Native, Ruby on Rails, AWS, cloud native, graphql, postgres, and security design
  • Desire to take initiative and work closely with colleagues
  • Intellectually honest, self-starter, and ability to prioritize by return on time and investment
  • Be comfortable being uncomfortable. We move very fast, folks who are confident in their ability to solve problems, even in new areas or domains are highly preferred
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, take ownership of problems to deliver for users, and carry out responsibilities with a sense of urgency.
  • High level of commitment to the job and delivering outstanding work.

Qualifications

  • Make a computer do. We prioritize results and returns over formalities and academia
  • Professional and eager to chase down problems and deliver results for users
  • Experience with Javascript, React Native,Ruby on Rails, Ruby, AWS, Rest APIs, and general software development tools (Jira, Github)
  • Passion for developing delightful tech, reinventing processes, accelerating the path to clean energy, and empowering frontline workers highly preferred
  • Experience developing commercial software a plus
