The Fixed Income Quantitative Intern will assist in all three areas of Quantitative Research:
- Working with portfolio managers and research analysts enhancing data and analytics evaluation tools (performance attribution, portfolio optimization and risk analysis).
- Collaborate with Relationship Management providing technical assistance creating marketing material and responding requests from clients and consultants.
- Assist the Risk and Governance team providing portfolio risk metrics and their market risk management monitoring needs.
Responsibilities
Analytic Tool Development
- Migrate and maintain the core functionality of Front End analytics back to Fixed Income team from Operations.
- Maintain and enhance existing tools such as performance attribution, allocation, and risk reporting environments.
- Implement processes to monitor the quality of analytics data feeds and to create user-defined instruments for our analytics system.
Quantitative Analysis
- Work with investment teams (structured, corporate, municipal, and TIPS) across the investment process and acquire detailed knowledge of fixed income securities, structures, and proprietary valuation models.
- Serve as an active liaison between QR and groups outside Fixed Income (Relationship Management, Operations, and Risk and Governance).
- Assist these groups with data analysis, client requests, and presentations. Assume a leading role in the partnership between QR and Systems to provide high-quality portfolio data.

What can you expect from an Internship with a BBH Asset Management team?
- Broad exposure to investment teams and Portfolio Managers as well as to various industries
- Performing research and evaluating public information (annual reports, quarterly conference calls, newspapers, sell-side brokerage reports, etc.) on both existing and potential investments or managers to be presented in articles, client and/or internal presentations and internal risk analysis
- Monitoring existing investment offerings, including the gathering of performance data, portfolio composition data and other reporting and marketing collateral
- Exposure to building financial models and performing valuation analyses and participating in the due diligence research process
- Exposure to trade execution and portfolio management
What BBH’s Asset Management teams look for in an intern:
- Currently a junior in college, entering senior year in Fall of 2024
- Strong academic achievement as evidenced through a GPA of 3.3 or higher
- Demonstrated leadership skills through academic and extracurricular activities
- Excellent programming skills in JAVA and Python. Advanced knowledge of statistical and numerical packages such as R and MATLAB. Familiarity with SQL is a plus.
