MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related natural science is required. Must possess a Driver license.

The Division of Environmental Resources Management (DERM) is a vibrant, highly-professional, and very committed Division within Miami-Dade County’s larger Regulatory and Economic Resources Department (RER).  DERM’s prime goal is to protect both the County’s unique biological/marine resources as well as critical natural resources which supply residents with clean drinking water. DERM’s regulatory authority is based in Chapter 24 of the Code of Miami-Dade County. A Pollution Control Inspector 1 (PCI 1) plays a key role in achieving DERM’s mission since inspectors are on the front line or in the field protecting Miami-Dade’s unique environment and fragile resources, while also connecting with concerned citizens and facility operators.
