This is a paid internship in our Alexandria, Virginia office. Applicants are expected to work 40 hours a week. Additional hours may be required and will be compensated, due to the amount of preparation that goes into executing our CPAC conference. The CPAC internship provides a unique perspective of politics, allowing interaction with Members of Congress, media personalities, and thought leaders in the conservative movement. You will gain hands-on experience as part of a supportive and collaborative team, all sharing the goal of spreading and energizing the conservative movement in America.

Each department has different responsibilities, but regardless everyone works together as a team to ensure the smooth operation of the organization. You’ll also work as event support at one of the largest gatherings of conservatives in the nation, CPAC. Below you will find a brief outline of potential intern responsibilities. Policy intern responsibilities may include:

  • Researching CJR, Human Trafficking, and Regulatory related legislation
  • Generating content for ACUF
  • Preparing briefing documents
  • Researching bills to be considered for State and Federal Ratings
  • Award creation and delivery for State and Federal Ratings
  • Preparing media briefing documents for the Chairman

Events & Operations intern responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with the planning of CPAC
  • Planning and execution of the CPAC agenda
  • Assisting with the management of CPAC volunteers
  • Maintaining databases of contact information for speakers, volunteers, etc.
  • Attending meetings and venue walkthroughs
  • Providing on-site event support
  • Manage inventory and assist office workflow
  • Manage relationships with external vendors
  • Donor, foundation, and prospective donor research
  • Donor communications, both written and verbal
  • Data entry of donor and prospect information and CPAC attendee information
  • Assist with event management and hosting VIPs
  • Assist donors or handle inquiries on the phone

Communications & Digital intern responsibilities may include:

  • Writing draft press materials to promote CPAC’s activities
  • Reviewing, editing, and uploading website content
  • Helping to plan and execute press events
  • Maintaining and editing large media database
  • Reviewing and cutting media clips for the Chairman
  • Monitoring CPAC social media accounts
  • Providing on-site event support
  • Produce and ship thank you letters to supporters nationwide
