Software Integration Specialist

Specific Duties

 

  • Serves as a software integrator, technical expert, and/or project manager of software representations (models) of threat weapons systems within the Simulation Development Branch of the National Ground Intelligence Center's Data and Modeling Division. 
  • Will support software integration of models into simulation environments by using technical knowledge and expertise to interface with subject matter experts to compile system intelligence, program manage contractor model and simulation development, and integrate software into simulations to support the mission. 
  • Will be a critical member of a multi-disciplinary team that works together to verify models against customer requirements and validate models against subject matter expert-provided system intelligence. Will utilize simulation assets and authoritative scenario laydowns to simulate near-peer engagements and process and analyze the resulting data. 
  • Will be required to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical audiences to gather and share information. 
  • Model integration into simulations will directly support Army and Department of Defense-wide communities, including modeling and simulation, intelligence, research and development, acquisition, testing and evaluation, operational planning, and sustainment communities. 
  • Simulation integration and scenario focus areas are, but not limited to: vehicle mobility, command/control/communication, electronic warfare, air defense artillery, radar systems, artillery, and passive detection systems.

Specialized Experience &Minimum Qualifications

 

Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.

Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled.

  • Specialized experience is defined as experience researching scientific or engineering data for a technical project; applying scientific, engineering or mathematical principles in problem solving; and/or preparing and providing technical briefings or exchanges.

Qualifications for the GG-07/09 grade level:  To qualify applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (GG-05/07).
