Academy of Country Music Spring Intern
We are looking for bright, fun, hard-working students who love Country Music and want to see the music entertainment business first-hand. Our Spring 2024 interns will work towards the planning and execution of the 59th Academy of Country Music Awards.
The chosen candidates will work closely with Academy staff in their Nashville office and focus on one of the following areas: Events, Strategic Partnerships, Marketing, Publicity & PR, Media Archives, Creative & Content Production, Graphic Design, Artist & Industry Relations, Programming & Community Engagement, Finance & Operations and ACM Lifting Lives. They will additionally complete general administrative duties to support the entire ACM office.
Internships will start in January and run through the end of May 2024. The roles will be based in Nashville, TN and will be primarily in person. All internships will require a minimum of a week of travel surrounding the 59th Academy of Country Music Awards with the potential for additional travel as needed.
Candidates may receive credit for their participation and will be paid for the internship. All students are encouraged to apply.

The ACM Publicity & PR intern will assist in drafting press announcements, tracking press coverage, and crafting media plans for major announcements and for the 59th ACM Awards. The Publicity & PR intern will be very hands-on at the ACM Awards, helping to facilitate portions of the red carpet and show press. This individual should have a passion for Country Music and for communication, as they will be required to work with publicity teams throughout their experience at the ACM.
The ACM Media Archives intern will work with the Academy’s prodigious content library and vault, documenting the organization’s front row seat for almost six decades of Country Music and major television broadcasts, and assist with plans to package and publish archival content in celebration of the ACM Awards’ 60th anniversary in 2025. This individual should have a passion for Country Music and familiarity with artists, both current and classic, as well as experience working with deep content libraries, metadata, and cataloguing best practices.
The ACM Creative and Content intern will focus work in three areas: Video, Writing, and Social Media. They will serve as a production assistant on video shoots, both internally in the ACM Lisa Lee Content Studio and externally, and assist with some light video editing work (candidate should have experience and familiarity with video editing programs). They will write and edit content for the Academy website and our quarterly membership magazine, ACM Tempo. And they will assist in pulling photos, gathering graphics, and writing/editing copy for the Academy’s robust social media portfolio.
The ACM Graphic Design intern will collaborate with the Design Director, marketing team, and copy writers to conceptualize and create visual assets for the ACM Awards, including promotional materials, social graphics, event signage, and more, as well as translate ideas into visually stunning designs that align with the event's brand and messaging. This individual should be proficient in Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) as well as have a strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects at once. Knowledge of Premier and After Effects is a plus.
The ACM Marketing intern will assist the Academy’s Marketing, Communications, and Digital department with its preparations, promotion, and publicity of the 2024 Academy of Country Music Awards show and related events, as well as other Academy programmatic initiatives and projects. They will traffic promotional assets, graphics, and media to partners, advertising and media platforms, and relevant contacts and confirm/ensure correct and successful activations and support, as well as collect screengrabs for various projects including: radio promotions, ACM mentions, ACM awards show, and Academy events. This individual will also create and update contact grids for Academy events, including the ACM Awards’ nominees/performers/presenters.
The Strategic Partnerships intern helps integrate brands with the Academy. They will help contribute to the day-to-day development and execution of partnership agreements. They will track and organize partner data, deliverables, and activations. This role requires efficiency, strong communication and professionalism, and being detail oriented.
The Finance and Operations intern will assist the team with various operational areas including but not limited to inputting company expenses, tracking incoming invoices, maintaining records and archives, and office management. The primary goal for interns is to gain an understanding of operations and events within the music business while assisting the current team. In the time surrounding the ACM Awards, this intern will serve as a production assistant for the Events Team.
The Artist & Industry Relations intern will assist the department and Awards & Membership department with tasks surrounding the 59th ACM Awards Show and ongoing membership benefits, programming, and database maintenance. Act as a liaison when needed with board members, VIP donors/sponsors, talent teams, charity beneficiaries, nominees, members, etc.
The Events intern will assist the department in preparation for the 59th ACM Awards with tasks such as creating and maintaining department inventories, vendor research and outreach, making detailed venue and security maps, carrying out signage plans from print to set up, managing on-site volunteers and setting up satellite offices in venue. This intern should have the ability to travel for the 2 weeks leading up to the ACM Awards, be able to lift 40lbs and be comfortable driving large vehicles.
The Programming & Community Engagement Intern will support the Academy of Country Music’s diverse initiative programs, including OnRamp, LEVel Up, and the DEI Task Force, as well as critical internal and external community engagement in lifting all voices in Country Music by creating monthly newsletters, capturing press mentions, conducting research, processing ticket orders and various other administrative tasks.
The ACM Lifting Lives intern will work directly for the charity and support the team with all ongoing projects and initiatives, but the major focus will be helping with all aspects for ACM Lifting Lives’ annual fundraising event at Topgolf the night before the ACM Awards. The scope for this fundraiser will include many categories, including event logistics, ticketing, brand partnership integrations, talent/VIP/music industry relations, and administrative duties.
