Graduate transportation engineer

As a transportation engineer your responsibilities may include:

  • An introduction to conceptual, preliminary and detailed design
  • An introduction to site inspection, investigation and monitoring
  • An introduction to design calculation, computation using formula and preparation of calculations
  • Review, assistance and modification of reports, specifications and studies
  • Introductory opportunities to use crucial software to civil engineering design related project
  • Get involved with our Early Career Professionals network and participate in lunch and learn opportunities

To be considered for this position, you will currently have or be working towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree in urban and regional planning or civil engineering. You should be able to demonstrate your interest in your chosen sector through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules or previous work experience. You’ll also have:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in planning, geography, or civil engineer, or related field(s)
  • A methodical approach to problem solving
  • Prior relevant internships, co-ops or practical work-experience preferred
  • An ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently
  • Adept verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail and ability to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and write accurate reports
