Web Design and Development Graduate Student Assistant (Open to Work Study and Non-work Study)

Position Title: Web Design and Development Graduate Student Assistant

Reports To: Web Manager, UHS and CMHC

Estimated Hours: 15-20 hours per week

Remote

 

UHS provides medical care to undergraduate, graduate and professional students, as well as public health leadership at the University of Texas at Austin. The UHS web site, healthyhorns.com, provides a simple path for UT Students to access care, learn about services and resources available to them, find information related to their health and well-being. This is a fully remote position.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

 

The sites managed do not use a content management system. This position requires a good knowledge of HTML and CSS. While most of the work will be updating content, some work will involve design and UX. 

  • Provide support to the web manager in the implementation, design and coding of web pages
  • Assist with website maintenance tasks.
  • Review and fix incorrect and obsolete code 
  • Update content
  • Design graphics and edit photographs for UHS and CMHC sites
  • Quickly adapt to new or unfamiliar technologies
  • Manipulate information, construct ideas, and use technology to achieve strategic goals

 

Required Qualifications

  • Current UT graduate student with 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Good knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3
  • Good knowledge of Bootstrap 4
  • Interest in learning and developing coding and design skills.
  • Available to work 15-20 hours per week
  • Experience with Photoshop

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with PHP, Javascript, Jquery
  • Experience with Illustrator
