Civil Engineering Intern (Traffic) - Summer 2024
We are currently seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for our Transportation Development and Traffic Engineering groups in our Jacksonville, FL office.
The Civil Engineering Intern will primarily work with associates based in Jacksonville, FL, assisting the Transportation Development and Traffic Engineering Groups. Transportation Development projects include a variety of widening, new location, intersection, interchange, and tolling projects at various stages of project development. Meanwhile, the Traffic Engineering Group responsibilities include crash analyses, traffic volume forecasts and traffic operations analyses for highway projects. The intern will provide key support on tasks related to project planning efforts.
Qualifications:
- Current student studying Civil Engineering at an ABET accredited university
- 3.0 GPA or above
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
- Willingness to work with different teams to meet project deadlines
- Ability to work independently with general supervision as well as within a collaborative team environment
- Strong work ethic aligning with the company’s mission and core values
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coursework that includes Transportation Engineering, Transportation Planning, and/or Traffic Engineering
- Experience with traffic analysis tools (HCS, Synchro, and Sidra) and traffic simulation modeling (TransModeler and VISSIM)
- Previous internship experience
- Exposure to ArcGIS
